As we highlighted in a post a couple of  months ago, the feed in tariff premium (payable by energy retailers on top of the 16 cents/Kwh) was set to rise to 11.2 cents per kilowatt hour from 1 July 2013. The latest Update on Minimum Retailer Solar F.I.T. in S.A. July 2013

determination from ESCOA indeed confirms that ‘ the minimum FiT Premium to apply from 1 July 2013 until 31 December 2013 is 9.8 cents per kWh, revised from the previously determined 11.2 cents per kWh‘. Whilst not earth shattering it is slightly disappointing – however, as we have commented elsewhere on this site – our view is that South Australia has managed the entire ‘feed in tariff’ scheme the best of any State in Australia – in terms of giving prospective solar buyers at least some medium term view of where the tariff was headed – unlike other States that made very abrupt changes to their schemes.
